BINGHAMTON, NY – April 16, 2024 – SureScan Corporation today announced the completion of the purchase of IDSS Corporation. The acquisition creates the most technologically advanced company for airport cabin and hold baggage screening products.
With this acquisition, SureScan Corporation has significantly expanded its global offering in advanced check point screening technologies.
SureScan, the first screening machine manufacturer to use CZT technology is very pleased to announce that it has purchased Integrated Defense & Security Solutions (IDSS, Corp.). This transaction creates a new powerhouse in the CT (Computed Tomography) industry to better meet the needs of the Aviation, Cargo, and Customs & Border markets. This acquisition follows SureScan’s recent purchase of PDSI, the advanced screening research & development corporation.
The Right Technology
The prime driver motivating this transaction has been the identification of the incredible engineering synergies which exist between the entities.
SureScan brings 20 years of research into the best utilization of CZT detectors and the successful implementation of a stationary product design.
PDSI has roots going back to the initial development of the first Computed Tomography machines, both in Medical and Security applications.
IDSS has developed the standard for Checkpoint systems, being the first design to achieve TSA 6.2 level 1 Checkpoint Certification. Additionally, the team has extensive knowledge in the development of Open Architecture systems, utilization of Al in the development of algorithms, and data management.
